Celebrated Saudi director Haifaa Al-Mansour (Wadjda) returns with an inspiring drama about a young doctor unexpectedly becoming an electoral candidate. She wants something done about potholes which are impeding access to her hospital. When she discovers that the only way to achieve this is by becoming a local councillor, she puts herself forward as a candidate. We follow her election campaign, witnessing her determination and charisma in winning over her family and the community at large, as they struggle to accept their town’s first female candidate.
