Minnie & Moskowitz (12A)
Gena Rowlands was one of the greatest actors of world cinema, winner of two Golden Globes and recipient of an Honorary Academy Award. In one of the great underrated American films of the 1970s, Minnie and Moskowitz, Rowlands plays museum curator Minnie Moore, whose life has not turned out how she expected. In this light-hearted, funny movie, she’s a divorcee who’s just turned 40, with a boyfriend Jim who’s married to someone else. A nasty break-up and a blind date that goes horribly wrong lead to a chance encounter with parking lot-attendant Seymour Moskowitz. Seymour falls in love with Minnie at first sight, but can he convince his seemingly polar opposite to feel the same way? “Joyous. One of the year’s top ten” Time Magazine.
