The Color Purple (12A)
A story of the powerful connection between three unbreakable women, Alice Walker’s beloved classic is transformed into a bold new unforgettable big-screen musical. Living in the south in the early 1900’s Celie is torn apart from her sister and children, she faces many hardships, but ultimately finds strength in the bonds of a new kind of sisterhood. Based on the musical stage play adaptation and directed by Blitz Bazawule (Beyonce’s Black is King) the film was co-produced by Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Scott Sanders and Quincy Jones.
