Judy (12A)
Thirty years after she shot to global stardom in The Wizard of Oz, Judy Garland is in London ahead of a week of sell-out shows, enjoying reminiscing with friends and adoring fans, charming musicians and optimistically pursuing a new romance. But after working for 45 of her 47 years, she is exhausted and struggling to make ends meet; haunted by memories of a childhood lost to Hollywood; and gripped by a desire to be back home with her kids. Renee Zellweger portrays the Hollywood icon in a musical drama based on the Olivier-nominated West End and Broadway play, End of the Rainbow, featuring some of her best-known songs, and celebrating the voice, the capacity for love and the sheer pizazz of “the world’s greatest entertainer”.
