John Otway, Wild Willy Barrett

After more than 40 years of attempted escapes and still loved for their total in-yer-face originality, the contrast between the dead-pan humour of Barrett and mad onstage antics of Otway are hilarious. John is a lyrical genius and is partnered by Willy’s ability to play almost every known instrument, including a few home-made ones.

It soon transpired that the ‘Last Straw Tour’ was only to be the last of… well, quite a few more, as Willy claims that the phrase was aimed at the audience dying off rather than the duo finally citing artistic differences and splitting up.
