SUMMARY:Central Station (15)
DESCRIPTION:This is an unassuming, touching BAFTA winning 1998 road movie from Oscar-winning director Walter Salles (I’m Still Here, 2024). A jaded former school teacher and a young boy become unlikely travelling companions on a journey through Northern Brazil, when the boy is suddenly orphaned and must find his estranged father. With striking cinematography and a rich portrayal of Brazil’s diverse landscapes, Central Station avoids sentimentality to become a moving study of connection between two strangers improbably joined together.\nBrazil 1998  111 mins  Dir: Walter Salles (subtitled)\nTuesday 1st December\nCinema located on first floor – regrettably no disabled access.\nLicensed bar, hot drinks available from 7 pm.\nAdvance tickets available in the cafe and online.
