DESCRIPTION:Peak District Big Band, featuring guest soloist Alex Clarke http://www.alexclarkejazz.co.uk/\nThe Leek Arts Festival is the highlight of the band’s year and this year sees the band at its largest ever line-up.  Once again the guest soloist is Alex Clarke, winner of ‘The Rising Star Award’ in the 2019 British Jazz Awards is featured along with vocalist Mia Kerrison who will recreate some classics from Ella Fitzgerald’s songbook, together with pieces made famous by Ray Charles, Imelda May, Beverley Knight and Amy Winehouse and many classic from the traditional big band repertoire, including works from the library of Count Basie, Ellington, Goodman, Buddy Rich and includes many famous tv and movie themes. A must see performance, as this year sees the departure of some of the band’s senior players.\nFoxlowe Arts Centre, Leek, 8pm\nTickets £8 in advance at the box office and on-line, £10 on the door.\n\n
