SUMMARY:Cowboys (15)
DESCRIPTION:Director Anna Kerrigan’s award-winning debut shows a rare understanding of the complexities of modern family life in this compassionate subversive Western drama. Troy (a superb Steve Zahn) is a troubled, but well-intentioned father who has recently separated from his wife, Sally. Aghast at Sally’s refusal to let their trans son Joe (an 11-year-old with a passion for cowboy yarns and the great outdoors) live as his authentic self, Troy runs off into the Montana wilderness with Joe. As they travel through the majestic beauty of the northern Rockies, a police detective pursues them, but her resolve about the case is tested the more she learns about Joe’s family.\nUSA 2020  86 mins  Dir: Anna Kerrigan\nTuesday 24th March\nCinema located on first floor – regrettably no disabled access.\nLicensed bar, hot drinks available from 7 pm.\nAdvance tickets available in the cafe and online.
