SUMMARY:Thelma (12A)
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by a real-life experience of director Josh Margolin’s own grandmother, Thelma puts a clever spin on movies like Mission: Impossible, shining the spotlight on an elderly grandmother as an unlikely action hero. When 93-year-old Thelma Post gets duped by a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson, she sets out on a treacherous quest across the city to reclaim what was taken from her. In the first leading film role of her 70-year career, June Squibb portrays the strong-willed Thelma with grit and determination, demonstrating that she is more than capable of taking care of business – despite what her daughter Gail, son-in-law Alan, or grandson Danny might believe. “It’s a great big happy, sad and profoundly moving hug of a film.” The Times\nSwitzerland/USA  2024  98 mins   Dir: Josh Margolin\nTuesday 18th February\n\nThanks to Cinema for All for the grant given for this season. \nCinema located on first floor – regrettably no disabled access.\nLicensed bar, hot drinks available from 7 pm.\nAdvance tickets available in the cafe and online.
