SUMMARY:The Outrun (15)
DESCRIPTION:After her life in London is derailed by alcoholism, twentysomething Rona returns to the Orkney Islands, where she grew up, to complete her rehabilitation. Reconnecting with the wild natural beauty of her childhood environment, she gradually finds inner peace. A lightly fictionalised adaptation of Amy Liptrot’s 2016 memoir, the film builds on the tension between erratic human will and stabilising structures of time and nature. Orkney is majestic and Saoirse Ronan delivers a stunning performance as Rona. “A moving and delicate adaptation … the rare two-hour movie that made me forget to check the time …” The Guardian. This film contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy. \nUK/Germany  2024  118 mins   Dir: Nora Fingscheidt\nTuesday 21st January      \n\nThanks to Cinema for All for the grant given for this season. \nCinema located on first floor – regrettably no disabled access.\nLicensed bar, hot drinks available from 7 pm.\nAdvance tickets available in the cafe and online.
