DESCRIPTION:Could you be the first ever Carrooka World Champion?! Arrival from 11am for flick off at 11.45am prompt. Finish by 6pm.\nCarrooka is the new finger flicking dexterity game that’s a unique blend of Carrom and Snooker, invented and made by hand in Leek. Carrooka is now two years old and we’re celebrating by hosting our first tournament to find the most fabulous flicker around!\nYou do not have to be brilliant to enter; you just need to know the rules, have had some practice and most importantly have bags of enthusiasm and a willingness to try to outwit your opponents. The tournament will be played on classic Carrooka boards- the snooker version of the game, with the final rounds being played on tournament sized boards.\nThere will be Pool8 boards and other dexterity games for informal play in the bar throughout the day, so there’s plenty for spectators to get involved with too.\nCompetitor numbers are limited to 32 players, but you can book as many spectator tickets as you like, all tickets include a welcome coffee and delicious lunch. The fabulous Foxlowe café and bar will also be open all day. All funds raised through ticket sales will go directly to the Foxlowe Arts Centre which is a registered charity and wonderful local facility.\nWe will be drawing names from 11am to decide who plays who in the first round. Rounds will take approximately 30-40 minutes and there will be a short break between each round. Follow us on social media @carrooka for more details as we get closer to the event.\nIt’s obviously the taking part that counts, this is going to be a wonderful festival of flicking, so we don’t need to mention the fact that there will be prizes do we?! There will be a trophy and £100 cash prize for the overall winner, additional prizes for the next three finalists.
