SUMMARY:The Damn Truth with support from Empyre
DESCRIPTION:Celebrated Montreal rock’n’roll band The Damn Truth are pleased to announce they are heading back to the UK in July 2023\nThe tour follows the recent release of The Damn Truth’s third studio album “Now or Nowhere” released by Spectra Musique/Sony Music and produced by legendary Grammy Award winning record producer, Bob Rock.\n“Produced by famed Metallica producer Bob Rock, This Is Who We Are Now is a
powerful statement of musical intent from Montreal rockers The Damn Truth,
with a chorus bigger than a bus and a guitar solo that absolutely soars.” – Classic Rock\nThe Damn Truth’s single, “This Is Who We Are Now” had ten weeks of airplay on Planet Rock and a spot play on BBC Radio 2’s Rock Show with Johnnie Walker. The single also won Tracks of the Week on Classic Rock’s Louder Sound.\nThe band have also been championed by the British music press with extensive magazine coverage in Classic Rock, Blues Matters, Guitarist, Powerplay, Guitar Techniques, Record Collector, Fireworks, Blues in Britain, Hard Rock Hell, MNPR and R’N’R Magazine.\nThe Damn Truth is comprised of Lee-La Baum (lead vocals, guitar), Tom Shemer (guitar), PY Letellier (bass) and Dave Traina (drums).\nThe Damn Truth have extensively toured Europe and North America, and opened tours for Z.Z. Top (and partied with Billy Gibbons in his pyjamas), the Sheepdogs, Styx, and Rival Sons.\nThey sold out the legendary Whisky a Go-Go in Los Angeles, sold out the Corona Theatre in their hometown of Montreal, and had one of their videos featured on the official Janis Joplin Facebook page. It’s a culmination of a lot of blood, sweat and tears that’s come fruition with “Now or Nowhere”.\n“Empyre have become masters at taking the formula for British atmospheric rock and infusing it with their arena-ready signature sound” – Guitar World\nSonically, Empyre perform intense, atmospheric rock, with a dark and introspective edge to their writing. In the words of BBC Introducing their music ranges from “Triumphant, chest beating rock” to more subtle but just as arresting numbers inviting you to do the deepest of soul searching. They’ve also been described as the love-child of Pink Floyd and Soundgarden.\nPlaudits have included being awarded a ‘High Hopes’ feature by Classic Rock Magazine, along with winning their “Track Of The Week” on three separate occasions. Kerrang! described their sound as “slick, vast and like the music was written with the help of an architectural blue print for an arena” and Planet Rock heralded the band as ‘Ones to Watch’.\nDoors: 7.30pm\nStart: 8pm\nTickets: £17.50\n
