SUMMARY:Scything with ‘Rosie’ – Bring your own Cider
DESCRIPTION:Ever wanted to go traditional and get your hands on a scythe to mow a splendid English haymeadow?  Or maybe you just like the idea of watching others scything, while you sit on a patio in the sun drinking cider?  Maybe even listening to poetry!\nEither way, Alison ‘Rosie’ McCrea, Foxlowe Garden coordinator, invites you to join the gardeners on Tuesday 26th July, from 6:00pm till dusk (or until the scything is finished).  Cider is not obligatory, you’re welcome to bring your preferred refreshments.  If it’s too wet to scythe, we’ll try again the following evening (Wednesday 27th).\nThis is not a workshop, just an opportunity for a taster in the ancient skill of scything.  If you’d like to have a go, do let us know in advance, as our meadow is small and we can only accommodate a small number of scythers.  Do also come with robust footwear and long trousers.  No need for advance notice or special equipment if you just want to watch.\nIf you’re interested in learning more, we can direct to you to professional courses/workshops.\nTo sign up for scything, contact ‘Rosie’ by e-mailing alison_mcc@btinternet.com.\nAs the front door of the Foxlowe will be locked, please approach the patio via the car park at the back of the building.\nALL WELCOME AND ADMISSION FREE\nEvent organised in collaboration with Moorlands Climate Action\n
