SUMMARY:In the Heights (PG)
DESCRIPTION:“A blast of sunshine, hope and hotpants” (The Guardian) – that’s what we need to kick off the season!  This is truly a movie for the big screen—a film adaptation of the multi-award winning stage musical that put Lin-Manual Miranda on the showbiz map before his fame exploded with “Hamilton”.  It’s a dazzling musical honouring the diverse Latinx communities of Upper Manhatten.  Whilst it’s full of vivacity, song and dance, there’s an issue led drama under the theatricality, one of neighbourhood unity pitted against gentrification and discrimination, full of warmth and song.\nUSA  2021 143 mins   Dir:  Jon M. Chu\n\nCinema located on first floor – regrettably no disabled access.\nDoors will open at 7pm to enable audience members to find seats whilst maintaining distance between groups.
